Overview

Channels in BeMusic allow you to create pages for displaying specific content or displaying content ordered in specific way. (Top 50, popular albums, new releases and so on). Channels can display all site content (artists, albums, tracks, users, playlists etc.) and can be nested.

You can assign channels to menus via menu manager in "admin → appearance → menus" page and as homepage from "admin → settings → general" page.

Managing Channel Content

You can manually manage channel content by editing specific channel from "admin → channels" page. Search for content using "Search for content to add..." input, select the item you want to add to channel and it will be attached to the channel.

Channel items can also be re-ordered via drag and drop.

Automatically Updating Channels

If you want channel content to update automatically based on some criteria, select the criteria you want from "auto update" menu. Selecting one of "spotify" or "last.fm" auto update methods will fetch content matching that criteria from spotify or last.fm sites and attach it to the channel automatically.

Local auto update options will automatically update channel content with data from local database.

Important:
Channel content will only auto update once a day. To instantly update content after adding a new track, album or artist, you can clear cache from "admin > settings > cache" page.
Important:
For channels to be periodically updated automatically, you will need to set up a CRON JOB.

Channel Page Title And Description

Channels have their own page title and description that can be changed via "SEO" tab when creating or updating channels.

Channels will not be affected by homepage seo tags entered in "admin → appearance → seo" page.
